About the Stewardship
Who We Are
The Biggest Little Trail Stewardship, Inc. (formally Poedunks, Inc.) is a Nevada non-profit corporation established in 2007 operated by a 100% volunteer base, funding work through grants and donations. We are an active IMBA Chapter.
The Biggest Little Trail Stewardship's mission is to build, maintain, and advocate sustainable multi-use trails in the greater Reno area. We conduct regular trail maintenance and construction, advocate for new trails and connecting routes throughout the community, and routinely practice fostering land manager relationships throughout the area.
The Biggest Little Trail Stewardship’s goals are to conduct business in a manner that reflect a model trail building organization, maintain healthy and honest relationships with land managers and the public at large, seek comment and feedback from the community, improve connectivity throughout the Truckee Meadows region and into other neighboring communities, provide and maintain trail signage and mapping, support local bike parks and community organizations.
Board Members
-
Kimberlee
Director
Kimberlee’s been riding the local trails since 1989. One day, about 15 years ago, out on Peavine, she came across a new trail, (the old new Upper Stagecoach), her mind fog parted, curiosity arose and she thought, “where do these trails come from anyway?!” Inquiry led to the Poedunks and in 2017 she decided it was time to pay back and forward for all the joyful trail experiences she’d received - preferably in ways that didn’t require swinging a pick or shovel. She started attending meetings and eventually joined the Board of Directors just as the organization’s name was being changed to Biggest Little Trail Stewardship. Her projects include trail signage, membership and fundraising events.

Curtis
President
BLTS President for the last 15 years. Avid trail advocate and mountain biker, skier, sailor and SCUBA Diver. Retired Reno Fire Division Chief, Active Operations Committee member of National Championship Air Race Association, now at Roswell, NM, Past President of Sierra Nevada Community Sailing Association. Past member of Tahoe Bike Patrol, father of two adult boys, dog lover and basic Trail Nut.
-
DJ
Director
Reno native, undercover gym rat, lover of hard work, and purveyor of good times. DJ has been involved in MTB and trailbuilding for the better part of the last twenty years, and with the BLTS as a crew leader since 2017, occupying various board positions since 2020. Easily identified in a riding group by the lack of gloves, MTB-specific clothing, or the lack of serious demeanor, DJ supports the notion that all we need is a helmet, a bike, and a good crew to ride with to enjoy our public lands and other trails in the region and is stoked to put in effort to help contribute to these efforts in any way possible.

Amanda
Treasurer
Amanda has loved spending time outside since she was a kid but found her way to mountain biking in 2004. Since then she has dabbled in many aspects of the sport from racing various disciplines, MTB product testing and trying to help others have their best days through coaching. These opportunities have allowed her to travel around the US as well as internationally to explore trails. In 2017 she started getting involved with the BLTS to explore yet another aspect of the sport she loves. Helping people has always been a passion and this seemed like a great way to serve the Reno community. She is proud of what the BLTS has already accomplished and knows there are many more great trails ahead!
-
Harris
Secretary
A perennial loser of the Downieville Classic, Harris will happily discuss minutae of suspension settings and geometry with anyone in earshot while he cramps up in inconvenient parts of the ride. A Nevada fanboy since 2014, Harris is enthusiastic about maintaining trails and improving access for aspiring riders and seasoned vets alike. Harris began digging as early as he could hold a shovel as a bike-based child, scraping jumps out of construction site dirt piles and helping to build and maintain trails in Mendocino in the late 90s.

PJ
Director
PJ is a Reno native, when he’s not spending time with family, working or chasing around his toddler, he’s most likely enjoying the outdoors on two wheels. He started riding mountain bikes in 2012 and hasn’t looked back. He’s the self proclaimed most okayest-ish rider amongst his friend group. When climbing, his 52 tooth cog is his favorite, and likely his only option. He has also been voted most likely to get a blister first at a trail work day by his peers. PJ joined the BLTS board over ten years ago with a mission to see trails progress in the area, and slowly but surely that mission has begun to come full circle. At the end of the day trails became a passion for PJ when he realized the positive impact they can have for the community, and selfishly, he wanted to be able to have more miles of fun close to home. Taking bad lines with good friends is what PJ is all about. Sharing experiences and making memories with his family on our public lands is his why.

Jay
Director
Jay comes to the board of the Biggest Little Trail Stewardship after a career with Nevada State Parks as a park ranger. He spent most of his time managing the parks at Tahoe - Sand Harbor, Spooner, Cave Rock, and of course the Spooner Backcountry. This is where a love for trails began. After Parks, he spent several years as the trail coordinator for a local advocacy program called Truckee Meadows Trails. When not working, he spends every possible day cycling or hiking in our great local open spaces. “Biggest Little Trail Stewardship allows me to give back to the trails community. There is no better local trails organization than Biggest Little!”
