Goal of Project
​
Obtain approval of a 6 to 7.5 mile extension of Tamarack Lake Trail connecting Reno/Truckee Meadows Trails with the Tahoe Basin Trails by a quality sustainable multi-use non-motorized singletrack track trail open to mountain bike use.
Scope of Project:

  • Establish a trail alignment for the extension of the existing 4.3 mile Tamarack Lake Trail from near Mt. Rose Ski Area Entrance to Galena Creek Park Trail Network 

  • Obtain all relevant clearances to satisfy NEPA and land manager requirements via contracted studies to obtain categorical exclusion and approval for trail from USFS and Washoe County. 

  • Research if area user created trails can be incorporated.
